I was watching a Facebook video a couple of weeks ago that was really shocking. The video was a social experiment by a You-Tuber, Joey Salads. He filmed a model in a revealing top and shorts sitting on a bench. She attracted a bit of attention and looks; but nobody really bothered her.

He then placed a woman on a bench, who was breast feeding her child she received some ridiculous comments: “That is disgusting!” “ That is inappropriate.” “ you shouldn't be doing that in public.” This was only a social experiment and it wasn't real but it was still amazing to see the public's reaction.

Since when is it a bad thing for a mother to feed her child? Breast feeding is the most natural thing in the world. In fact it gives babies the nutrients they need to develop. I don't understand why anyone would be against something that is so beneficial for a child, just because it makes someone a bit uncomfortable. So what do people expect her to starve her child because she is in public?

It's funny how no-one was offended by the Model despite the fact that her breasts were also on show. Our society seems to be comfortable with the unnecessary sexualization of women's bodies yet are uncomfortable if a woman is seen breast feeding.

Women's breasts are used to advertise everything from luxury perfumes to beer. Barely anyone raises an eyebrow . It baffles me why some people are suddenly offended because a mother has whipped out her boobs to feed a hungry baby. Its like society has completely twisted something that is so innocent and natural into something that is wrong and humiliating. Why are you making a woman feel ashamed for being a good mother?
